Trying out Picasa 1

I just saw this while my boss is editing one of his pictures in the office to upload in Facebook. I found it really cool. It’s interface looks simple enough but it looks like it’s capable of heavy editing stuff. Let’s see how much can it enhance or rather assist my mediocre creativity skills.

It’s a 15MB software so it’s easy to install.  And the best thing about it – it’s free! Be careful where you download it though.  You wouldn’t want your machine installing additional spywares and shit.

Get it straight from: http://picasa.google.com/

Done installing!

1st reaction: It’s like an advanced Instagram and a significantly reduced version of Photoshop (even that is an understatement). Well, it has all these instant editing functions. And for most recreational users like me, this is more than enough. I’m sure you will enjoy this one.. At least I know someone who will. L

Sample editing: (Few clicks, here and there) I will post more if I get the chance, and the mood. You know how it is, these days if you read the few entries.

Google Maps Distance Calculator

A very nifty tool that I use a lot. Pretty accurate too.

How To Use

  1. Zoom and drag the map to find the location of marker 1
  2. Click to place marker 1.
  3. Zoom and drag the map to find the location of marker 2.
  4. Click to place marker 2.
  5. The distance will be displayed below the map in miles or kilometers. You can change between miles or km at any time.
  6. Add as many points as required and the distance will build up.
  7. You can also drag and drop markers after they have been put on the map

Try it!
